Who we are
Our website address is: https://toddlertasks.co.uk. Toddler Tasks (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is run by Nicola Mabbett. For the purposes of data protection laws, Nicola Mabbett is the Data Controller. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at hello@toddlertasks.co.uk.
The Data We Collect
We collect and process personal data to run our business efficiently. This includes:
- Identity and Contact Data: Your name, email address, and username when you buy a product, leave a comment, or subscribe to our newsletter.
- Transaction Data: Details about the digital products you have purchased from us and confirmation of payments. We do not store your credit card details.
- Technical and Usage Data: Your IP address, browser type, device information, and details about how you interact with our website.
Our Lawful Basis for Processing
Under the UK GDPR, we only process your personal data when we have a valid legal reason to do so:
- Consent: We rely on your explicit consent when you voluntarily tick the box to subscribe to our marketing newsletter or allow non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Providing your email address when signing up for our freebies or newsletter is necessary for us to send you that content — without it, we’re unable to deliver what you’ve signed up for.
- Performance of a Contract: We process your name, email, and order details to fulfill your purchase. This data is safely passed to our storefront platform, Payhip, to automatically deliver your digital products and transaction receipts.
- Legitimate Interests: We process technical data and comments to keep our website secure, prevent spam, and understand how visitors use our platform to improve our content.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@toddlertasks.co.uk.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email and website in cookies for convenience on future comments. These last one year.
- If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie checks whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
- We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site (pages viewed, time on site, general location). This data is anonymised where possible and used to improve our content.
- We use a cookie consent tool (Complianz) to record your cookie preferences and ensure tracking scripts like GA4 only run after you’ve given consent.
Non-essential cookies (like GA4) are only set after you accept them via our cookie banner. You can change your preferences at any time.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles and pins on this site may include embedded content (e.g. Pinterest pins, YouTube videos, or images from other sites). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you’re logged in to that site.
Who We Share Your Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
- MailerLite: We use MailerLite to manage our email list. If you subscribe, your email address and any information you provide (e.g. name) is stored with MailerLite for the purpose of sending you emails you’ve opted in to. See MailerLite’s privacy policy: https://www.mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Payhip: We use Payhip to process and deliver digital product purchases. If you buy a PDF from us, your order details (name, email, payment confirmation) are handled by Payhip. See Payhip’s privacy policy: https://payhip.com/privacy
- Affiliate Links: Our site may contain affiliate links (e.g. to Amazon). If you click through and make a purchase, the retailer may set their own cookies to track the referral — this is governed by their own privacy policy, not ours.
How Long We Retain Your Data
Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely, so we can recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically. Email addresses collected via MailerLite are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
Order records from Payhip purchases are retained as required for UK accounting and tax purposes (generally up to 6 years).
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you’ve subscribed to our emails, left a comment, or made a purchase, you can request an exported copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase your personal data, except where we’re legally required to keep it (e.g. purchase records for tax purposes).
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict how we use your data
- Withdraw consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing from our emails)
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe we’ve mishandled your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@toddlertasks.co.uk.
Right to Object to Marketing
You have the right to object, at any time, to us using your personal data for direct marketing purposes — including our email updates. If you no longer wish to receive emails from us, you can unsubscribe using the link in any email, or contact us directly at hello@toddlertasks.co.uk. We will stop marketing to you immediately upon request, with no need to give a reason.
Where Your Data is Sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Data collected via Google Analytics, MailerLite, and Payhip may be processed on servers outside the UK (including the US), under those providers’ own data protection safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses or data privacy frameworks).
Children’s Privacy
Toddler Tasks content is created for parents and carers of toddlers – our products and website are intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us, please email hello@toddlertasks.co.uk and we’ll delete it promptly.
